Polls show an increasing support for political violence. In my opinion, this is because we are living in an oligarchy and there are no other effective modes of change.
Look at the Paramount-Warner merger. The laws we elected lawmakers to enact and the state to enforce are not being enforced. We voted for the laws. We voted for the sherriff. Yet the will of the people is not being enforced.
What options remain?
The reality is that we are being ruled and controlled by a very small number of very rich people.
Many of these billionaires are hoping or trying to dismantle democracy and create some sort of techno feudalism where corporations rule. What’s disturbing is that many of these men have read sci fi where such techno feudalism is the norm and they seemed to have missed that such societies were never portrayed as being ideal or even good, they are always dystopic.
They are dystopic for everybody but the cunty billionaire at the top, who has an amazing time as emperor, its that role they chase after. They completely lack any empathy for anybody else, they really do not give a fuck how many people get crushed in the process of them being all powerful. Sad thing is, they wouldn’t even enjoy it if the achieved it, they can’t even enjoy what they have now, all unhappy characters straight out of a Ronald Dahl novel.
People experience increased violence from policies and lack of oversight. It makes sense they‘re readying to fight back.
Except there’s a decent slice of people who want to inflict further violence. These aren’t the people who are gonna rise up and fight tyranny. These people think raising the government deserves punishment.
That’s crazy. Why don’t they just cut regulations instead? That is the true path to utopia. /s
Strong’s Zuckerberg says in the film that “the debate is over”. If it is, The Social Reckoning portrays a world where Meta is on the wrong side of it.
Hey, this might be good!
