    That’s sort of how volcanoes work? They don’t release the schedule, so you kinda have to be on your toes all the times. You know, hard times yada yada.

      Some volcanoes are kind enough to give you about a week heads up.

      But we also lack perspective. The volcanoes work in thousands, hundreds of thousands and millions of years. For them being a few years, or for the larger ones a few thousand years “early” or “late” is what for us are a few seconds to minutes.

    Which means nothing coming from the Russian state.

      Sure, but it really is extremely isolated. There are some tiny towns a bit over 100 km away and then it’s thousands of km to anywhere else. Volcanos rarely endanger more than 40 km around them.
