Right at the fall of Soviet union the proverb emerged:

“They pretend they pay us money, and we pretend we work.”

Same vibe, honestly.

It feels that it is either Linux phones, or Fairphone, or GrapheneOS. We are somewhat fucked.

However, you have to separate that from the government or the country even.

It is done by Russians despite all governmental efforts to shut it down.

Russia itself stands on the way and actively undermining that effort, so it is unfair to use the country name.
