I see, as long as they don’t have shitty living conditions then I don’t see what the problem is. I will say if it’s anything like certain bases I’ve been on, like Camp Blanding in the US which was an Internment Camp in WW2… I would feel pretty bad for them.

I get that this is ridiculous, but I have to ask how a town of 350 will accommodate 1200 more? I don’t know about small towns in UK but is there enough housing? If more is built, is there a proper infrastructure? As in when I lived in a small town in US, roughly 600, everyone had well water and septic tanks; there was no city like plumbing.

I bring this question up because where I live now, the city keeps building giant apartments and car washes; yet sewage is being dumped in the water. There is a “drought” so plenty of water restrictions. And despite the heatwave this has never been an issue 15 years ago. They okayed all of these buildings, but the entire infrastructure is completely outdated, like don’t be surprised if you’re showering with sewage or reclaimed water and the lights flicker often sigh. A lot of people that have lived here their whole lives aren’t happy about this and there is no possible way this will be fixed even in my lifetime. But hey they just keep increasing bills and taxes.

This is why I like my old Jeep. It’s manual. It’s got great “security”. I always say it’s got an alarm system; because any small time thief would yell out of frustration. When I travel, I pull out the clutch pedal and take fuel relay out and unplug the battery and leave it in 4lo lol. Oh yeah and you have to unplug the clutch pedal fuse for it to start. If the battery has been unplugged, then you got remap the ECU which takes like a half hour of my shovel wedged against the gas pedal unless you want the engine stalling out every time you take your foot of the pedal. It’s also one of the rare colors, as in only 2000 made with dicks, I’m very childish, carved in hard to see spots to make it a nightmare for part thieves. So if you steal it, pretty much with a tow truck, it’s like putting a bullseye on yourself.

The point was, there’s no controlling that. I don’t like all the new tech put into cars.

Honestly, learning things one way kind of sticks with you. I’ve also done a lot more —I wouldn’t say advanced— maybe just above basic stuff in excel that I just don’t want to relearn how to do it differently; like making auto-fill using a csv database, and yes I’m lazy but hey I only worked 2 hours out of an 8 hour day.

I use libre for everything else, though their spelling correction is annoying. Don’t you dare use a British English spelling sigh.

Yep. The college I attend got hacked twice in a year. First time they went with “it’s maintenance” on a Monday at peak hours, you know like you would maybe do that at I don’t know? When everyone’s sleeping? The second time they fessed up and sent out text’s that they “fixed” the data breach. So yeah cool all the school email data is out there now; sucks for those that use that as their Microsoft computer login.

This isn’t just google; it’s a new grift using the internet overall. I look something up online at the grocery store website, they put a lot of focus on you should order online and pick it up. I go to the store and it’s cheaper than the online price for the same store. We’re all getting played.

Tell me about it. It’s like I learned so many skills and I can’t keep up with the curve. Programming, web design, animation, 3D design, audio, video, photography, pretty much every physical art like painting, electrical engineering, the list goes on. I think I’m stuck repairing things and being a career college student for the rest of my life since by the time I finish a degree, some wanker ruins the job market. Someone always needs to have something fixed but I’m tired, my hands and back are toast and I haven’t even gotten to 40.

It was funny when one of my professors told me if you’re going to want to be a news journalist photographer, I shadowed him a bit in college, you better learn how to use a video camera and edit as well. He had a pretty good point, that’s basically a prediction of what more or less streamers and content creators are, well except the content is usually not very good.
