As an Aussie visiting Europe that regularly deals with these temperatures… This is so much more uncomfortable than an Aussie summer. But it’s an easy fix: make AC a standard measure (the amount of shops and restaurants here that are high 30s INSIDE is something I’ve never seen before), make free drinking water a legal requirement, and make public toilets a thing too (so people don’t need to worry about hydrating!)

Currently visiting Europe from Australia. The heat’s undeniably quite bad, but it’s high time Europe started investing in public infrastructure, building codes, and service laws to support people in these heat waves. I’m shocked at how difficult it is to access water anywhere!!

Worth noting that the motivation for this is to give the state parliament extra powers to reveal fuel information from retailers about supply levels. The government requested six retailers provide supply chain information, but only three complied.
